Electromagnetic drums TE

Electromagnetic Drums are widely adopted in the metal recycling plants, WEEE, in the treatment and recovery of waste, slag, ores; wood, glass etc. for the recovery of ferromagnetic intrusion of small, medium and large sizes from inert and non-ferrous materials, but they are also used for the protection of installations where the presence of ferromagnetic intrusions will cause damages.
The drums are essentially constituted by an adjustable electromagnetic assembly, which extends over 180°, placed inside a casing of non-magnetic steel, rotating on the axis of the drum.

Principle of operation

Gauss Magneti designs and produces drums that can work both by fall and by extraction of material. Ferromagnetic intrusions are attracted by the static magnetic field of the drum and are thus separated from the process material, are retained on the rotating amagnetic cylinder until they reach the discharge zone, outside the magnetic field.
The process material, free from ferromagnetic intrusions, continues the path for inertia, falling directly into a container or on a conveyor belt.
In the electromagnetic drums TE-TEE the magnetic field is generated by electric coils (aluminum, copper) wrapped around a low carbon steel core, with high magnetic permeability.
These products also require minimal maintenance.
